Self catering & cottages

Do as the Finns do – at the height of the summer they all disappear to the countryside!

Finnish self-catering cottages range from basic fishing lodges to luxury all-inclusive holiday homes with all modern amenities – thus we’ll be able to match you with a cottage that suits both your needs and your pocket. You can book a fishing hut, a five star log cabin or even your own island! Ideally, the Finnish summer house is situated close to water on a forested shoreline. It offers the perfect opportunity to revel in the peaceful countryside and enjoy sauna bathing and swimming in complete privacy. Most summer cottages have a pier and a boat close by.

Most cottages are in sparsely inhabited, quiet countryside although there are also many holiday villages providing full restaurant services for customers. Some holiday homes are located near farms, which is a wonderful experience especially for families with children. Some farms offer also bed & breakfast accommodation.

Cottage holiday is also great choice for those who wish to do a bit of fishing. Using a rod, line and worm bait does not require any fishing permit. We can also find you a cottage for more complex type of fishing!

The rental price includes unrestricted use of the cottage and sauna. The cottages differ in standard of amenities and setting, but all are fully furnished and equipped with cooking facilities, bedding, lighting and fuel for heating. Firewood and electricity are normally also included in the price. Visitors need only bring their own bed linen and towels, although in many cases these can be rented beforehand. Most holiday cottages have been designed for round-the-year use and they are accessible by car.
