As you cruise up the Norway coast past its stunning fjords you get a chance to see the Northern Lights.

The Hurtigruten shipping company has been a part of coastal life in Norway for more than 115 years delivering cargo, mail and passengers. Translated as “fast route”, Hurtigruten connected the south of Norway to remote corners of the north of the country, regardless of the weather.

The company has changed over the years, from a group of day-time steamers to a modern fleet of ships carrying passengers and cars along the coast. The new ships have been built with passenger comfort in mind, with more cabins and panoramic lounges to admire the rugged, unique coastline.
